If the Sculpting tool is not working on your system, it is because you either have Windows 7 which does not have a version of Direct X that is 11.1 or higher, or because you do not have enough video memory.
The technical reason is that Windows 7 only gives us access to 1 UAV within DirectX 11.1, and our compute shaders currently use between 2-6 (see references below). Win 8.1+ gives us access to 8-64 (depending on DX version) which is why it works fine on those platforms.
What you can do to get sculpting to work on your system:
The quickest solution for you to get it working on your computer if your video card meets the system requirements below would be to upgrade to Windows 8.1 or 10, and to ensure you have at least DirectX 11.1. We realize that this is not possible for every user for a variety of reasons, but if you are able to make that change you should be able to get it working on your computer. But you should also make sure you meet the minimum system requirements to run MasterpieceVR before changing your OS.
Available OS: Win8.1+ x64
Processor: Intel i5
Memory: 8 GB
DirectX Version 11.1
Disk Space: 2 GB
Video Memory: 3 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA Maxwell (900 series) architecture or equivalent
Additional Notes: NVIDIA GeForce 1070 or above is recommended.
We are looking at options to make MasterpieceVR work on Windows 7, but this may not be possible. If there are any changes we will update the community.
